Meet Your Designer
Miah Ferracuti is the in-house interior designer at Shaw Building and Design and holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She brings a collaborative approach to every project, guiding design decisions with an understanding of both aesthetics and construction. Her work focuses on creating spaces that function well, feel comfortable, and support daily life.

Every project begins with getting to know you. We take time to understand how you live, how you use your space, and what you want your home to feel like. We also get to know the space itself, whether that means reviewing drawings, meeting on site, or coordinating with architects and builders. From these conversations, we begin shaping the overall vision for the project. Early ideas are explored through imagery, space planning, sketches, and preliminary drawings.

Our Process

With a clear concept in place, the design is fully defined. We refine layouts and interior details and translate decisions into clear, buildable information. Finishes, fixtures, cabinetry details, and lighting are selected and specified so the design intent is fully resolved. This phase focuses on clarity and confidence, ensuring the project can move forward smoothly.

Once decisions are finalized and documented, we move into execution. Materials, fixtures, furnishings, and decorative elements are sourced, ordered, and tracked. Installation schedules are coordinated alongside the build, and we work closely with trades and specialists to manage timing and logistics. Throughout this phase, we remain hands-on and communicative to ensure everything is carried out as intended.

As the space comes together, we focus on the final layer of the design. Furniture is placed, artwork is hung, and decorative elements are added to bring warmth, balance, and personality to the space. Details are refined so the space feels complete and comfortable. When appropriate, we also coordinate professional photography to document the finished space. Our work does not end when the project wraps up. We remain available as your needs evolve over time.
